Short Attention Span Theater

I’m not a very good housewife. I didn’t inherit the gene for housekeeping. Just sayin’. Married life is really great though!

My plants are all doing fairly well - my avocado plant is like 3 feet tall now! The violets are good as are the orchids, the ficus (ficii?) are good, my bonsai are doing well. When we were at IKEA over the weekend, I bought a miniature wooden greenhouse. Just need to put it together, it’s so cute!

My Animal Crossing obsession hasn’t really waned. It probably won’t until I have the biggest house. It’s fun and relaxing.

Sewing projects are going well. I really can’t wait to move so I can set up a whole “sewing corner” in the “playroom” I’ll have. Mind you, we haven’t even started the looking process, but whatever!

And built a dog!

Not much has been going on is all. I’m still working on getting settled here. My engagement ring has arrived. It’s so beautiful! This weekend I get to meet my future mother-in-law.

I’ve been doing a lot of cooking (and baking) since I’ve been here. Apparently I do a very good job at it, so i guess I’ll keep it up.

Somehow I hurt my back. Well not somehow, I’m pretty sure I did it while moving boxes around in the garage last weekend and it irritated my sciatic nerve and it’s just getting worse and worse now.

I feel so old.

Body :: abnormal.

I always find it funny when I can pretty much diagnose myself or at least know exactly what the doc is going to do.

My fingers, been sore and swollen - he’s got a few ideas on what it could be, which were exactly what I was thinking. First off, my blood pressure is seriously high for me, 150/90-something. Which is high on the general scale. Explains the headaches that wouldn’t go away all weekend and probably my exhaustion. I stopped taking the phentermine after this first started on Friday, as I kind of suspected that causing the high BP.

So I’ve got water pills to try and help that. Methinks I’ll be working from the toilet on the laptop for the next week or so. Also took blood to see if I’ve got any auto-immune thing going on like rheumatoid arthritis or something and to check my kidneys, liver, etc. He also mentioned thyroid, which of course made me chuckle. Anyone who knows my history would be rolling their eyes as well. Of course it’s also possible that the pain is just wear and tear from being on a damned computer all the time.

The surprise - I had to go for a lung x-ray. My left (bad) lung has some very localized wheezing, which I didn’t even notice. So used to it I guess. So we’ll see what comes of that.

Be at least 2 days before I get results of any of that. In the meantime - DON’T STRESS ME OUT!

And don’t keep me too far from a toilet. Water pills are crazy. I’ve peed more today than I have in the past month.

So tonight I went over to Kate’s to hang out with her, Patti and Dianna. We stitched a little, we bitched a little. They talked about kids…I stitched some more since I don’t have kids. It was fun though, regardless. On the way home, Patti and I were talking about dogs, and I mentioned how good Tugger has been lately, not destroying the house when we leave, etc. I feel the need to note that I DID comment that I will probably return to a mess since I mentioned his behaving. It’s only jinxing if you DON’T say something to that effect.

Hmm. Not that much actually. Work is going well overall. I’ve been mostly doing work for one company lately and I really like them. They don’t mind that I don’t show up until after noon and most of the tasks I work on are pretty quick, which suits me and my ADD quite well.

We’ve been working on cleaning the house in preparation for finishing the renovations. I’d really like to actually get back into our real bedroom sometime this year. We’ve been in the loft since early summer.

So yeah, sorry to be so boring, but there’s really not much going on. And you know what? That’s just fine with me.

I’m all foggy/cloudy headed. It started yesterday at some point, but it’s still here today. I haven’t felt like this in ages. I used to feel like this all the time. I don’t know what’s causing it, and I don’t like it, not one bit. I have work to do, this needs to stop. I can look at my work and understand it…it’s just taking 2x-3x as long to figure out what to do with it. Like I’m working through a thick wall of fog. This is not cool.
