Whoa, that sucked.

PlantsDogsBlog

Somehow this blog tanked in the last few days. My other blog on this server was just fine luckily. While it was totally unusable, I took the opportunity to upgrade to WordPress 2.0.3. Everything is running much smoother now, thank goodness.

I’m getting settled in here rather nicely. I’m ashamed to admit though that I’ve been too busy (and sleeping well on my own) to try Pzizz. It’s just a matter of time before I’ll need it though, so I’ll continue my review then!

Tugger is very happy at his new daycare. I have fun because they have webcams set up so I can watch him play!

My plants are all doing very well, you can check out my plant blog at http://flowerpot.iwritethecode.com.

Not much else going on, I really need to do better about writing over here, but now that I’ve finally got this install working well, it’ll be a lot easier. Before I was practically having to sacrifice a kitten just to post here.

Another funny dog story..

Dogs

Why are the really great pet stories not mine? Oh sure my guys do some funny stuff, but not the kind of thing that gets spread across the internet. ;) Amanda sent me this link. It is SO funny - this dog seems to have found her fountain of youth! Maybe we all need to follow suit. ;)

Vampire Dogs (not for the squeamish)

RandomDogs

So tonight I went over to Kate’s to hang out with her, Patti and Dianna. We stitched a little, we bitched a little. They talked about kids…I stitched some more since I don’t have kids. It was fun though, regardless. On the way home, Patti and I were talking about dogs, and I mentioned how good Tugger has been lately, not destroying the house when we leave, etc. I feel the need to note that I DID comment that I will probably return to a mess since I mentioned his behaving. It’s only jinxing if you DON’T say something to that effect.

14/15th minutes of fame

DogsDogShowUSA

Minute 14 - Tugger will be featured in the Portland (TN) Progressive next week along with Alli, his rescuer! They picked up on the Dispatch article because Alli lives in Portland. She’s going to get me a copy.

Minute 15 - Tugger and I will be on the noon news (NBC) on Monday the 20th. The last time we were on the news was pre-recorded but this will be live, so I’m extra nervous!!!

Help a dog in need!

Dogs

If you ever wanted to donate money for pets in need, but weren’t sure who was legit and wanted to know more about where your donation would go, check out Orthodogs’ Silver Lining. Orthodogs’ Silver Lining was started by a small group of people who wanted to find a way to provide some relief for caregivers who were struggling to help their pets lead a healthy life.

Tugger and Dollie’s rescuer, Allison, seems to be a magnet for sick and injured animals, let me tell ya. She found these guys and they pledged to help her out with a percentage of the bills for one of her newer dogs, Silas, a 10 month old Great Pyr who was hit by a car and needed a leg amputated. They’ve also provided a way for other people to make donations to help cover the rest of the fees.

Silas is only one of the dogs in need at the moment on their site. There’s another dog there, Gretta, who is an assistance dog for a paraplegic man named Mark. She needed surgery for a knee injury, and the bills ran pretty high. OSL pledged to cover a percentage of Gretta’s bill as well, which is just really cool.

Anyway, I just wanted to pass on the word in case anyone wanted to donate to a good cause!

Update: DogShowUSA

DogsDogShowUSA

We just found out, via a news story that a friend just happened upon, that Tugger did not win. He’s a winner to me no matter what. We don’t need anyone else to tell us that. Regardless, thanks for your votes, it was fun!!! I’m just really annoyed by how we found out. I expected to find out online tomorrow as they have announced for months, I didn’t need a personal call or anything. Just finding out like this, when you’re not expecting it, really sucked.

IMPORTANT: DogShowUSA

DogsDogShowUSA

Yay, it’s almost time for voting to start! The pictures of the finalists are up on the front page of http://www.dogshowusa.com and I think Tuggy’s the cutest, but I am not an impartial judge here. ;) So yeah, you can vote once per day AND every time you vote, you’re entered to win a video iPod! So there, more motivation to go vote, other than my guilt tripping anyone who doesn’t. ;)

The voting will begin at 3pm today, so please, vote for my boy! Please pass this on to anyone you know who loves dogs, the more votes, the better!

Also, the Dispatch just called and we did a phone interview. They’re coming tomorrow to do some photos. Craziness, I tell you.

15 Minutes of Fame

DogsDogShowUSA

Ok, Tugger and I may be on NBC’s news tonight. While we were waiting before the link with NY to do his vote video, Duarte Geraldino talked with me on camera for a few minutes. So if you see me, don’t make fun of me because I’m sure it was awful! ;) They got some good footage of Tuggy running around though. For the vote video, there were a lot of technical difficulties, so it ended up being really rushed. He was so good for it though! He just laid on the floor by my feet and chewed his new toy!! So yeah, I was a total dork in that too, but Tugger looked good at least! Voting starts on the 18th. Not sure if they’re actually announcing the finalists before then or not.

Wow. They’re serious.

DogsDogShowUSA

I just got a call from the press company handling the DogShowUSA thing. They’re setting something up with The Dispatch (Columbus newspaper) to do a quick interview/photo shoot over the weekend with Mr Tugger. This is cool, but kinda freaky!

Poor Baby

Dogs

Dollie’s on her way back to the vet hospital. Her eyes are so swollen this morning..both of them. We could barely pry her eyelids open to give her all her drops, and she’s just miserable. She knew where she was going though, and was shaking before she left the house. I hate that this is happening to her. :(

Edit: - She has an ulcer on one eye from the exams yesterday, and both lids are irritated from the anesthetic they used to do her pressure checks. So now she’s got a few more meds, including a painkiller!
